O G Home.

HE WAS HER MAN.
James Cagney & Joan Blondell,
Victor Jory, Frank Craven, Harold Huber.

Dir: Lloyd Bacon, 1934, Warner Bros.

SYNOPSIS:
A likeable villain decides to quit the safe-cracking racket.

"Many actors were lucky to earn $66 for a six day week, and they were forced to work almost every Saturday night and often into the early hours of Sunday. The actor was not only low man on the totem pole, he was practically buried in the ground. They were squeezing as much out of us as they could. 11 - 12 hour days, frequently working nights right through to sun-up. This didn't bother the studio heads because they were home with their families having dinner at the appropriate hour."
- Jimmy Cagney.

REVIEWS:
"No help will be president Roosevelt's pronunciamento of last Saturday in which he decried the public penchant for romanticising crime."
- Variety.
"Sassy comedy-drama not quite smart enough to match its star."
- Leslie Halliwell.
