Dir: Lloyd Bacon, 1942,
Warner Bros.
SYNOPSIS:
Never
seen this one but it sounds like a good crack at a comedy crime caper.
"At
times I agreed to do stories which my better judgment opposed, but because
Warner Bros were certain and definite that they were proper vehicles...
and I deferred my opinion to theirs. One glaring example was Larceny
Inc. I confess it was originally I who presented the story to Hal Wallis
but it was not my intention to play it. What I am getting at is this.
Do you think that if anyone else had played Larceny Inc or Reuters that
the box office results would have been any better? It isn't conceit which
prompts me to doubt it."
- Edward G Robinson.
REVIEWS:
"Tepid
comedy drama from the period when Warners were taming their gangster
image."
- Leslie Halliwell.
