Southside Johnnies go Eastside
On Sat, April 6th the Criminals of Evolution travelled up to Bristol to take part in the 6th Great Wreck'n'Roll Cirkus.

Hosted by some odd pub in the middle of nowhere (also known as Eastside) that must got their bar staff by holding a competition to find the two stroppy-est gurls in Bristol.
The Black Swan pub was split into two rooms, one of which belted out techno dance stuff 'til the early morning while the other competed for sound levels with live bands.

The Dead Plants kicked off the evening of entertainment with their trademark tried and tested bluesy skiffle. They gave a vigorous performance with classic renditions of their crowd-pleasing, jig-inducing songs. Stumbling up next to blow out the rave choons next door were legendary nasty punx Disorder; H/C antics from the blistering trio included the fine rock'n'roll traditions of having the singer swig from a bottle of red wine and a memorable amnesia of songs and chords.

The Criminals of Evolution were on next and we were only a little nervous after the stormy, breathtaking appearance by Disorder. We had just been deserted our guitarist so I (Bee Bop) played six-string while Crowdestine and Tini Bop played their usual roles of beats and screams. We showcased a stripped down skeleton of our act that was a surprising success. Instead of the traditional reception to our compositions (bods looking dazed before escaping out of the nearest exit) these lovely Bristollians actually liked us.

People danced, clapped and some even cheered! Tini Bop, our sexy starlet singer, got some hugs from the admiring crowd (but, it must be said, most of these cuddlers were stinking drinking horny blokes so praising her harmonies might not've been their paramount intention). Afterwards we eat pasta from a big bowl on a dusty sofa and got introduced to a man called Fish for the very first time who was full of charm but lacking in teeth.

Post - Criminal amusements included the acoustic radical ramblings of Judge Trev and the divine psychopathic-adelic bass-twanging of Ron Tree (ex Hawkwind). These two old rascals were joined onstage by seminal H/C punksters 2OOODS. Reformed just for this one night (organised by DS skin-beater Paul) 2KDS blasted their way thru two decades of ultra-noise. They shocked everyone by showing they can still jump around like twelve year olds despite their aging frames. The Yogo Crow Show terrorized the audience with acrobatic japery as the bombastic unrelenting barrage came to its apocalyptic end and the live sounds were submerged by the indefatigable digital DJs.
